Epilogue

“Hey wake up.” That voice said it was getting annoying and the poking of my cheek. “C’mon get up damn it…KANNA!” I woke up rising out of my bed slowly opening my eyes to see my twin brother Hakudoshi. His hair was shorter except for his bangs they were the same only they were gelled a bit to the side to look neat. He wore his black uniform and a smile on his face with braces showing too. I sighed reviling my silky pj’s and pulled out three things my hairbrush, hair tie and uniform. Nana our demonic rabbit that was once that Teimiosho, ears perked up an reviled it’s little wings and flew down the stairs to get something to eat.   I saw Hakudoshi head down the stairs yelling something about breakfast and him eating it all before I get down there. I hear a smack from my older sister Haku yelling in pain.

After taking a quick shower using my demonic aura to quick dry my hair, I slipped on my uniform and brushed my white long hair before putting it in my trademark braid. Bankotsu showed me how to get it nice and tight so it wouldn’t come undone throughout the day it was about mid back. I walked down stairs to the kitchen to see Nikki who is visiting for the week from collage sitting next to my twin they were fighting over the last omelet ah siblings…  I sat down eating slowly as to not get sick. I think sometimes I want to go back to the feudal area just to get away from them.

After breakfast I saw a red mustang in our parking lot as we walked out the door Nikki got up. She looks the same except for her short hair an imitation of Suikotsu’s I suppose. She usually wears jeans t-shirts and sandals. She now has pierced ears and is still making strait A’s as usual. She got up from the table and waved good-bye. “See ya Kanna, Hakudoshi, mom and dad Inroku’s waiting for me.” She then left closing the door behind her and a few seconds later the sound of a car driving away. “Oh that’s right Kanna, Hakudoshi you to need to get going.” My mom just realized. We were already out the door Nikki just shoved us back in…

We waved good-bye to our parents and headed down to school. Hakudoshi and I are called the ‘Mesa twins’ because we are exactly the same height and age.

I am Kanna Mesa and am fourteen years old starting my freshmen year of high school the same one Kagome went to. It has been four years since Naraku’s death along with Fuji’s during school breaks Haku and I would usually visit the past but for some reason we can’t and that the time portal is forever sealed after our last visit. But I think that they’re doing all right.

The day after we defeated are enemies Crystal, and Tenchi left to go back to their time to set things right. It was hard for their mothers to except but they got over it.

Inuyasha had given birth again three years back to a boy he named Inroku the same one named in the present and again a year ago to a pair of twins named Izamehi and Dashiki. Miyasha and Akemi are the best of friends.

Akemi looks like a toddler form of Bankotsu sort of except for Jakotsu’s face shape that is. Miyasha is a wonderful big sister and will protect her younger brothers and sister from now on till the day she dies.


Sesshomaru, Sango and Kohaku went and lived on the western lands along with their three-year-old son Tenchi and two year old daughter Rin. Kohaku is the leader in command of the western army because of his experience in slaying demons. So now the fifteen year old is ready for anything and he also taught me a few pointers with my bow. Sango told me the real reason he joined us was not also for his son but that Naraku killed Rin and Jaken.

Bankotsu and Denskue still don’t get along from what Jakotsu tells me. Every time they pass Onkai village to get to Hitori’s grave Denskue is always challenging him to a fight and Bankotsu is always winning. Speaking of which Bankotsu has gotten depressed every time he comes back from Hitori’s grave Akemi was always asking me what made her mommy and daddy sad I just can’t tell her…they have to first.

Kagome graduated from collage then married Koga and had her child. Kagome is the
greatest friend along  with Kikyo and Sango I could ever have. “Hey Kanna is that you?”  

“Haven’t seen you all summer!” “How have you been? Three voices called out. I stopped
my walking Hakudoshi looks behind his head to see my friends one he has a HUGE crush
on.
Anna she has light skin my height 5’7, short brown hair curly at
the bottom with blue eyes.

Tokai Makuro long strait black hair wearing pigtails she’s 5’6 and has hazelnut eyes an
tan skin.  She’s my brother’s crush and she knows

Then there’s Makina Sentei light tan skin about as tall as me a few inches shorter though
with blue eyes, black jet hair hovering over her shoulders to strains of her hair is braided
she reminds me of Akemi.

Tokai started. “SO where were you this summer?” she asked grinning, she just loves to
be a matchmaker. I shrugged “Oh here and there.” I shrugged sheepishly. Makina the
adventurous type cracked her knuckles. “Oh I can’t wait to see how many classes I can
skip this year.” I sweatdropped. “I can’t imagine how you managed to get this far…”
Anna sighed we’re the only brains in this operation all the time. “Can you at least try to
be interested in studying just a bit?” I backed away. Makina grinned pulling out on of her
textbooks. “Sure, ohhhh studying how interesting….and now I’m board.”

Anna sighed rubbing her temples on an oncoming headache “Sometimes I feel like we’re
related.” Hakudoshi and I hung our heads. “You don’t know the half of it.”

We herd the bell ring and we ran to our classes. I keep worrying about Kikyo and Sakura
we visit a lot before the portal closed since then Kaede died Kikyo’s the head priestess
still along with Sakura who looks like a Kagura except her eyes are brown and she has
pale skin.

But from what Kikyo told me last time that Sakura might not have long to live she’s
has a weak immune system and anything from a cold to a serous illness could kill her.


At the end of school Haku started to flirt with Toki and looks like’s she enjoying it

I hear a car horn beep twice to see Inroku leaning on the side of his car. He now looks
more like his grandfather InuTashio only his hair is short in the back. He wore the usual
long t-shirt, tan pants, black vest, shoes and some sunglasses. Nikki was in the passenger
seat a scowl look on her face. After dragging Hakudoshi and tossing him in the back seat,
I sat next to him as I placed my backpack on the ground I asked what’s wrong. Inroku
looked back and grinned stupidly. “I’m a daddy!” Nikki punched him in the jaw not even
looking at him. Haku and I just stared in shock. I was the first to speak. “Wha? What?”

Nikki sighed and looked at me sweetly. “It’s not like that it’s some class we both have to
take and we got paired up to take care of an egg treating it like our future child…should
we ever do it.” That last part she chided a vain appearing on the corner of her head.
Inroku rubbed the sore spot. “Hey I’m the driver here so don’t punch me, the cheer
leaders wouldn’t like that.” Punches were thrown by my sister as I buried myself in my
book I was reading as Hakudoshi buried himself in his video game. “There now maybe
the girls won’t like you now.” Nikki huffed as Inroku sighed starting up the car burses all
over his face and a bump or five on his head. “So how long have you two
been dating?” I asked.

Oh that’s right ever since the two got back from the past they’ve been dating for four
years they just don’t say. “Eh couple of months,” Inroku shrugged taking a right. Nikki
sighed. “more like days to me.” I sighed they are never going to admit it till probably
their wedding day. The next thing I herd was Haku getting frustrated with his game. He
turned it off and tossed it to the floor of the car. “Stupid overlord I can’t beat him.” He
grumbled crossing his arms. I pick it up turn the game on a few seconds later the enemy
is dead. Haku looked at me in awe. “How…did you do that?”

I shrugged handing him the game. “The main charter is an archer I basically hit the
overlord  on the jewel in his right eye you kept missing.” Haku was once again absorbed
in his game not listening to a word I said. The car stopped as Nikki got out of the car and
ran across the street towards a graveyard. I could see there was someone else there too.

End Kanna’s POV

Nikki’s POV   
Inroku was driving as we passed the local graveyard I told him to stop the car. He didn’t ask me why but he did. I then got out of the car and ran across the street to the graveyard towards a row of headstone. My eyes softened when I saw a particular old one with a man next to it. He was tall about six foot short black jet hair wearing sunglasses clothed in chocolate brown pants., a leather brown jacket, wearing biker gloves, a baseball hat and some tennis shoes, in his right hand was a cane.

I bended down and touched the smooth surface of it. “…Hitori…it’s been a long time.” I said tears trickling down my cheeks. I had forgotten the man was there. I stood up bowing. “I am sorry I didn’t mean to.” He cut me off by raising his hand. “It’s alright.” He said with a deep chuckle. I swore he sounded familiar very familiar. He then bended down picking up a bouquet of fresh cut lilacs. He placed them down as he did I noticed a certain bracelet on his left wrist…it couldn’t be could it? “I’m sorry Hitori I brought store bought ones there just aren’t enough lilacs for me to actually pick here anymore.” He stood up some tears trickling down his face.  

He sounded like he was in his late twenties early thirties. I just had to be sure.  The man started to limp with his right leg as he walked like he just had surgery on it or something. “Um, excuse me but how do you know Hitori?”   he turned around smiling. “How do I not?” he now crossed his arms amused. I sighed. “Sorry I thought you were someone I knew.” He chuckled again. “Yea I thought you were someone too your voice sounds familiar have we met before?” he removed his sunglasses since it was getting dark.

I gasped as I stuttered. “Bankotsu…is that you?” Bankotsu nodded. “Yes how do you know my name?” I pointed at myself. “It’s me Nikki Mesa your friend we met in the feudal area.” He squinted to get a better look perhaps? He limped towards me and with his fingers he trace my face till he chuckled. “So it is sorry my eye sight isn’t what it used to be.”  I hugged him.

“How, how have you managed to live this long?” He raised his arm up a bit pointing at the bracelet. “Remember when Mai gave me this bracelet to give to Jakotsu?” I nodded. “Well I did and about ten years later Jakotsu died in childbirth an illness a day later we had a little boy named him after my father but, Ja gave me the bracelet and somehow it has spiritual powers and let’s me age like a demon would I’m twenty seven but really I’m five hundred twenty-seven years old but my niece doesn’t know that.” He said in a whisper like she was there. I laughed still the same Bankotsu we all know and love. Inroku, and my siblings walked up to see what’s taking me so long. Inroku thought I got lost so I almost picked up a head stone to throw it at him but Bankotsu stopped me saying that this was a bad idea and that I should cool off.  

Bankotsu sat on the grass his leg was hurting. Inroku looked concerned. “Bankotsu where do you live?” he asked. “Next to the grave yard I just walk here.” He said getting up winching from his pain. “After everything was over I couldn’t walk strait anymore. So when the twenty-first century rolled around I had some surgery done a year ago before I lost my sight to try and reconstruct my leg all they did was put two metal rods around the shattered area and pined them down so now I limp. I recommended one of Suikotsu’s descendents and he did the surgery looks like ‘em too.” He explained while cracking his knuckles.  “And your sight?” Bankotsu shrugged in response. “Uh…well let’s see I lost my sight after my surgery I was up on the roof hammering some tile down when I lost my balance I fell down hit the back of my head on a nail and it pierced the part of my optic nerve that controls my sight or something I dunno wasn’t really good with anatomy.” He shrugged and sighed.

“Uncle Ban!” We turned our heads to see a girl running up to us one of Kanna’s friends Makina I think. “Dinner’s ready uncle.” Bankotsu nodded shooing her saying he’ll be there an she smiled reminded Kanna something and then left. He chuckled sadly. “It’s funny she doesn’t’ know I’m her ancestral grandfather ten generations back but since I’m still alive I have to take care of her, Her parent’s were killed her father also my grandson you get the picture…uh if you all want I can show you where the others rest.” We nodded and followed him to his house. “There behind the woods just head strait.” We did and after walking for thirty minutes we made it to see our companions old graves. Inroku looked like he was going to cry.

Inuyasha and Miroku were side by side same with their children. Sango and Kohaku were also side-by-side along with the children. Jakotsu’s was in the back next to Akemi and Maotoki. Next was Suikotsu’s Kagome I couldn’t believe it along with her children. We all were silent till we heard some rustling and hid to see whoever it was but two no four people emerged walking up to the graves.

Sesshomaru looking around forty-five wearing a business suit hair in a braid, he bended down placing some flowers on his wife, brother-in-law, and children’s graves. He sighed heavily

Next was Koga? How the hell was he still alive? Oh right he’s a demon. He wore just simple jeans shoes and shirt his hair still in a ponytail. He looked around thirty and also placed flowers down on his family’s graves. Then it was Kikyo okay how is she still alive? Oh yea she absorbs the souls of the dead. She was just wearing a normal red summer dress and sandals. There was one grave we missed it was behind a rock and it was Sakura’s she only lived to be six. What really surprised us was the one person we thought was so long gone that he had no way of returning.

Fuji was dressed in a navy blue uniform he looked like he was my age even. He placed flowers on Miyasha’s grave. The three left knowing we were there all the time but didn’t say anything. Fuji turned around and chuckled. “You all may come out now. “ we did and I smacked him. “HOW THE HELL ARE YOU ALIVE!” I shrieked. Inroku just held me back sweat dropping. “It’s her way of saying ‘hi’” he chuckled nervously. “So it seems.” He sighed sadly and began explaining what happened to the others we already guessed about the human side of the group. Fuji nodded. “Yes old age does do that to you, I was reborn don’t worry I’m good now but please call me Raven that is my new name now.”

Inroku then released me looking at his parent’s grave. “Inuyasha was killed, the children old age, Suikotsu poison the others old age got to them I’m surprised to see Bankotsu alive, Sesshomaru, Koga and Kikyo too. Sakura died of a fatal illness now known as pneumonia. That’s all I know.”

He then left till Inroku stopped him. “What about my sister here in the present?”  Raven sighed. “She’s in Germany.” He dug in his pocket to so a greeting card. He flicked it as Inroku caught it. “Mai’s fine and will pound you later from flirting with girls.” Inroku blushed and pissed that this guy red his mail. Raven looked towards Kanna and Hakudoshi. ”Have a safe life ” With that he left using his ninja skills.

We later headed for home and I returned to collage along with the perverted demon a.k.a Inroku but I can’t help the feeling something bad is going to happen…and soon.
